new information about the misconduct allegations The PFC is the civilian body responsible for monitoring the police department including disciplinary decisions PFC President Maiy Deppe said the investigation seems to be taking a long time But the commissioners will have no more information than the general public until a report of the investigation is submitted to them know a she said has taken a long time I guess what happens in a deal like this that it takes a long Deppe said The commissioner added she expects the PFC would receive any investigative report as soon as it is released be completed really com BRIAN BRIDGEFORD CWN NEWS SERVICE BARABOO With a police officer allegedly involved in sexual misconduct on paid leave for nearly six months the chief and police commissioners say they are still waiting on the results of an investigation by state authorities On Tuesday retiring Baraboo Police Chief Thomas Lobe told the News Republic he heard anything new from investigators looking into allegations a police officer had sexual relations with someone while on duty City officials were officially alerted to the allegations in early August when Madison attorney Jill Packman sent an official of event giving rise to to them In it she stated her client and an officer began a friendship in July 1999 which became a sexual relationship in the fall of that year Until April 15 or 16 of 2000 the relationship continued and sometimes included sexual touching or intercourse while the officer was on duty for the city The notice states-tnat the partner suffered unspecified injury as a result Badger opinions wanted at meeting Department staff The public is invited to hear presentations Interested people may provide written or e-mail notification of their interest in making a intersection was a popular idea but easement concerns and lack of space made the option challenging So called which allow traffic to stay off Highway 1223 but still access businesses in the corridor were even more controversial since few of the roads in that area would line up to create accessible intersections either road Canyon steep grades were also cited as a problem in addition to several conflict points along Highway 12 The group concerned with Adams Street to Gasser had then-work cut out for them This section of Highway 1223 with frontage roads and the interchange seemed to be the Depart-ment of Transportation and Strand Associates held an informational meeting Monday for area landowners who will be affected by the proposed reconstruction of Highway 12 from 1-9094 to Highway 23 WisDOT and Strand has been meeting with the Lake Delton planning commission for the past several months discussing options and establishing goals for the project which was initially planned to onlybe a resurfacing project After further study WisDOT decided the corridor was in need of expansion to ease the traffic congestion this area experiences every summer A short twenty minute presentation was followed by group meetings concerned primarily with three problem areas: the Highway 23Highway 12 intersection Highway 12 from the Highway 2312 intersection to Adams Street and Adams Street to Gasser Business owners along with Tom Domer Lake Delton Chief of Police quickly listed problems with the Highway 1223 intersection Many problems related to inadequate signage and drivers unfamiliar with the turn no signs that pepper 'the area The grade approaching the intersection on Highway 23 from 1-9094 was also a problem in addition to confusing lane marking on that side of the intersection The timing of the lights particularly the left turn only arrows from Highway 12 to Highway 1223 were noted in addition to the confusing turn) pavement marking in the outside lane on Highway 12 The group discussing Highway 12 from the Highway 2312 intersection to Adams Street dealt primarily with the Canyon Road intersection which shows a high rate of accidents Strand Associates engineers and Lake
